Outside a pub in 1928 is where Goodwin Smith all began, when two rival shoemakers Ernie Goodwin and Walter Smith stood arguing about which one of them could make the better shoe.
Both coming from different backgrounds: Ernie a Manchester City right-winger and Walter a coal miner, they soon found out they shared the same ideals...a love of high quality footwear and a night out on the town! Soon after the men decided to join forces and quickly formed a thriving shoe company.
From their men's leather brogues to their boots and derby shoes every Goodwin Smith shoe maintains the highest standard in footwear construction. 4 generations on and the brand still has upholds original foundations of the brand.
The Goodwin Smith ethos represents the epitome of the modern man: we might not all be cut from the same cloth but we can chose our own footprint.
